Find out more about Bowland’s Founder & Managing Director, Oliver Alcock.
Oliver started his own business back in 2011 which at the time was named ‘Oliver Alcock Computers’. While working at Ribble Valley Council as an IT technician, Oliver started to grow his IT business from the ground up with his first ever client being based in Longridge. The small business then grew through basic but effective advertising in magazines such as The Local Herald. As time moved on, the clients became regular and boosted Oliver’s council income substantially until it got to the stage where the business income was higher than full time employment.
As the business progressed and grew, Oliver felt that having the business titled as his own name wasn’t great for branding and didn’t portray the size of the business well, hence Bowland IT was developed back in 2013. The business moved into a converted barn office set overlooking the picturesque river, in the heart of Slaidburn. With the are of Slaidburn and it’s surroundings being part of The Forest of Bowland, the business name Bowland IT fitted in well with the location, and a recognised brand name.
